Impact in business due to AI: A comprehensive literature review

Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative force
across business domains, reshaping decision-making, operational efficiency, and
strategic agility. This paper synthesizes findings from over 50 peer-reviewed
studies published between 2022 and 2025, focusing on AI adoption in strategy,
operations, marketing, sustainability, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Using a systematic review approach, the study identifies key trends such as
enhanced personalization, improved forecasting, and resilient supply chains.
However, significant research gaps persist, including the lack of SME-specific
frameworks, real-time validation models, and cross-cultural adoption
strategies. The paper highlights the strategic implications of AI for
competitive advantage and proposes future research directions emphasizing
longitudinal studies, hybrid AI-human collaboration, and ethical governance.
Findings suggest that AI-driven transformation is not merely technological but
deeply strategic, influencing organizational design and global competitiveness.
