Abstract
Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) play a
vital role in India's economic landscape, contributing significantly to
employment generation, innovation, and GDP. However, many Indian SMEs face
operational inefficiencies due to limited resources, manual processes, and lack
of access to modern technologies. Digital transformation offers promising
strategies to address these limitations. This paper reviews various digital
transformation strategies adopted by Indian SMEs, with a focus on their role in
improving operational efficiency. The review synthesizes findings from existing
academic literature, industry reports, and government publications, identifying
key digital tools, benefits, challenges, and future prospects. The study
concludes with recommendations for policy-makers and SME owners to promote
sustainable digital adoption.
