Abstract
This study examines the performance of the
Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres (hereafter abbreviated as AC&ABC)
Scheme in India with special reference to Tamil Nadu. Using secondary data from
2002-2022, the study analyses state-wise distribution, district-level
performance, activity-wise diversification, and institutional participation.
The findings reveal significant regional disparities, with a concentration of
performance in a few states and districts. Tamil Nadu emerges as a strong
performer in terms of training and venture establishment; however, intra-state
imbalances persist. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions,
improved credit linkages, and diversification of agribusiness activities for
inclusive agripreneurship development.
